Youth Theatre
Develop your creativity and explore issues that are important to you!
Our ever-popular Youth Theatre groups are the perfect place for young people to develop creativity, build confidence and make new friends. Led by professional theatre practitioners, our groups meet weekly, work towards sharings for friends and family and have even joined the cast of Queen's Hall productions in the past!
Queen’s Hall Youth Theatre groups are led by Tom Marton and Addison Keen.
Tom Marton
Tom’s practice as a theatre practitioner is founded in ethnographic action-based research pieces. He has worked with youth theatre across the North East for the past six years. Devising theatre that forefronts the voices of young people and developing a space where they have the freedom to express themselves creatively and develop personal skills.
Addison Keen

With a background in youth arts and the creative industries, Addison is passionate about helping young people grow in confidence, creativity and collaboration
We strive to bring out the best in our young theatre makers
We want everyone to have a brilliant experience at our Youth Theatre. To ensure this, we abide by the values set out in the National Association of Youth Theatre’s Excellence and Inclusion Framework.
These values are:

Compassion: engaging with the world and each other knowing it is not always comfortable.
Cooperation: the give and take between artists and play, accepting compromise will sometimes be necessary for the benefit of the group.
Empathy: caring for others with a curiosity that constantly seeks new ways of being and creating together.
Forgiveness: allowing and recovering from potentially damaging mistakes.
Imagination: keeping ideas in the mind long enough to allow them to emerge.
Humility: being humble and accepting everyone has equal importance in the creation of ideas.
Magnanimity: the courage and generosity to give away ideas.
Patience: this is only possible over years!
Rapport: the magic language between individuals in tune with each other.
Tolerance: accommodating differences and allowing mistakes.
Trust: being respectful and honest with each other so we can experiment without fear.
Rigour: be prepared to practice and practice: with intention and commitment.
