Tynedale Community Choir

Tynedale Community Choir Welcomes You!

Are you someone who has always wanted to sing but thought you couldn't? Or perhaps you used to sing but feel a bit rusty now? Maybe the idea of joining a choir seems daunting, or you're not confident in reading music? Well, fear not – Tynedale Community Choir is the perfect place for you!

Here's what you need to know:

Who can join? Absolutely everyone! Whether you're a novice or a seasoned singer, our choir is open to all. We embrace diversity and welcome individuals of all skill levels.

When do you meet? Join us every Monday evening at 7:30pm to 9:00pm during term time at Trinity Hall, located between Queens Hall Arts Centre and the Beaumont Hotel.

How do I join? Just email [email protected]

How much does it cost? Membership fees are £25 per half term, with flexible payment options. Pay upfront at the start of term, or simply contribute £5 per visit if you're unsure about attending every session.

What's in it for me? Our members describe their experience as uplifting and joyous. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

What kind of music do you sing? Our repertoire is diverse, ranging from classical motets by Mozart to contemporary hits like Elton John's "Yellow Brick Road" and Carly Simon's "Let the River Run." We also delve into traditional folk music. With parts for Soprano, Altos, Tenors, and Basses, there's something for everyone, and singers are encouraged to explore different vocal ranges.

What else do you do? Outside of our weekly sessions, we participate in various events and performances. From singing at the Abbey during Christmas to attending the Street Choirs festival, there's always something exciting happening. We also enjoy impromptu performances at local events, picnics, and we've also been known to be up with the birds at our dawn gatherings at the Bandstand.
