Step into Luca Silvestrini’s acclaimed new dance-theatre adaptation of Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute.
Join the fun-loving bird-catcher Papageno and the lost Prince Tamino as they journey through a magical world in search of Princess Pamina, discovering unexpected truths about the mysterious Queen of the Night and the wise leader Sarastro. Along the way they encounter fantastical creatures, magical instruments and a series of extraordinary challenges that test their courage, friendship and compassion.
The Magic Flute is brought to life through Protein’s signature blend of dance, storytelling, humour and music, combining rearranged Mozart with original compositions by Frank Moon. Featuring inventive choreography, stunning visual design by Dick Bird, creative captioning and video design by Douglas Baker, and lighting by Rachel Shipp, this enchanting production creates an inclusive and welcoming theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.
Following Protein’s award-winning family production The Little Prince, Luca Silvestrini’s The Magic Flute is a playful and heartfelt adventure that celebrates imagination, friendship and the importance of choice.
