Losing Track, Holding Traces in Hexham

The latest exhibition in an ongoing project by three artists who connect with the landscape and each other through walking, drawing and making.

Jane Gower works with foraged plant materials, exploring cordage, weaving and dyeing processes to create sculptural textiles in response to the natural environment; Omi Pharncote works in felt, incorporating seeds, grasses and inks which come from her walks; Jenny Purrett uses handmade inks, pigments and charcoal to create drawings which capture the vitality and transience of nature.

This exhibition is a consequence of losing track: getting lost in the experience of walking and making. The work holds the traces of these artists’ individual and collective experiences.
