- Main Information
Howay Again are a four piece band made up of Paige Temperley (guitar and vocals), Cathryn Anderson (saxophone), Sophie Purvis (drums) and Glenn Lambie (bass guitar).
The band formed earlier this year with the aim to provide a family friendly match day experience in support of Newcastle United Women’s Team before their match at St James Park, with a set full of match day classics and football chants.
From there, the band were selected to be part of the Newcastle United Carabao Cup celebrations performing on the Town Moor in front of over 150,000 football fans. Lifetime supporters of Newcastle United Football Club, the band have become particularly passionate about the growth of the women’s game and have remained involved with NUWFC playing pre match at Kingston Park Stadium as well as at the team’s end of season award ceremony.
Going forward, Howay Again are set to remain involved at NUWFC’s new home of Gateshead Stadium, working alongside the club’s fan group to create a series of new player chants for the season ahead.
Most of all the band would like to encourage inclusivity in football and show young people that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to.
