Building Worlds, Telling Stories: A Creative Writing Workshop

Every young writer already carries a world in their head. In this playful 90-minute workshop, you'll invent one from scratch, draw its map, name its rivers, fill it with characters and creatures, and then write the opening of a story set there!
Bring your imagination and go home with something you've made.
No experience needed, and there's no such thing as a wrong answer.
Led by writer and creative writing tutor Dr Louise Logan-Smith.
Please note that this is a drop-off session; parents and carers do not need to stay.

Dr Louise Logan-Smith is a poet, fiction writer and creative writing tutor at Teesside University, and was recently Reader in Residence with Crossing the Tees Book Festival and Darlington Libraries for the National Year of Reading 2026.
