Lunchtime Guitar Recital: Ian Watt

Acclaimed guitarist Ian Watt fills Hexham Abbey’s lovely North Transept with solo guitar music inspired by (and including) the Paraguayan composer Agustin Barrios Mangoré’s classic, La Catedral.

Picture yourself roaming the spectacular cathedral of Montevideo as the music of JS Bach fills the air – that was Mangoré’s starting point in creating his atmospheric and dramatic masterpiece. Around it, Watt travels far and wide in an hour of mesmerising music.
