As part of a series of events celebrating this summer's Discovering Dark Skies exhibition, join us for a special talk exploring Northumberland's dark skies.

Duncan Wise, Lead Officer for Dark Skies with Northumberland National Park Authority, will give a present a slideshow about Northumberland's dark skies, and how Northumberland National Park and Kielder became England’s first International Dark Sky Park in 2013, celebrating and highlighting the successes achieved since, and the ongoing work being done to tackle light pollution from excessive artificial light at night.

After the talk, join Duncan for a guided Twilight Walk around Hexham at twilight (tickets purchased separately), where you will hear more about the effects of light pollution on our dark skies, its detrimental effect on wildlife, and upon our health and wellbeing.
