Queen’s Hall Arts has today announced that, with generous support from EGGER, the Hexham Lantern Parade will return this November.

After taking a break in 2025, Queen’s Hall is delighted to confirm the free parade will return to the town on Friday 13 November, thanks to sponsorship from EGGER.

Jonathan Tully, Plant Director for Finance at EGGER, explained: "The Hexham Lantern Parade brings people together, and this resonates with EGGER’s values as a family-owned business. Established in Hexham since 1984 and employing over 650 people locally, EGGER is proud to sponsor the Parade. The partnership will enable artists and schoolchildren to collaborate over several months to create lanterns, reinforcing EGGER's long-term commitment to investing in the community and inspiring future generations."

Queen’s Hall Artistic Director Katy Taylor said, “We are delighted to be bringing the Lantern Parade back to Hexham with the help of EGGER. We know how loved the event is by our local community and how much music, light and creativity are needed now more than ever.

The team are working hard behind the scenes, alongside our colleagues at EGGER, to make sure the first parade back is one to remember, and we encourage everyone to save the date.”

Audiences can also look forward to live music from Northern Monkey Brass Band, a high-energy collective of some of the North East’s finest brass and percussion players bringing infectious New Orleans-inspired grooves to the parade. As well as glowing lanterns and joyful community spirit, vibrant live music is firmly back on the agenda, with the band’s feel-good performances lighting up streets, festivals and intimate venues alike.

People are encouraged to save the date and check the Queen’s Hall website for further information, including drop-in sessions to create lanterns and take part in the parade: www.queenshall.co.uk.
