Pennie, Len

An electric debut collection ranging from misogyny to mental health, from performance poet and TikTok sensation.

Feminist poet Pennie leapt to public prominence during the COVID pandemic when her video performances of poems such as I’m No Havin’ Children went viral on social media and drew praise from the likes of Michael Sheen. She brings with her an electric collection of verse and prose about loving, learning, surviving, growing and giving. Whether she’s writing letters to her younger self, advocating for women’s rights or adapting fairy tales to process an abusive relationship, Pennie’s is a bold, frank, sharp and witty voice that moves deftly between English and Scots creating poetry that is approachable, affecting, idiosyncratic and fiercely funny.
