WHAT SAFETY MEASURES WILL BE IN PLACE WHEN I VISIT?

 

 

Please check back here or on our website to make sure you have the most up-to-date information before your visit.

- Our staff will still be wearing face coverings, and we strongly encourage all visitors to do the same, if they can, in line with government advice.

- Hand sanitiser stations will be located throughout the building.

- We advise booking in advance for events and are only accepting contactless or card payments in venue.

- We’re asking you to help us beat the queues and have your e-tickets ready to show a member of the team as you enter the performance space.

- We’ll be carrying out additional cleaning and regularly disinfecting all areas of the venue.

- Details on social distance measures in place around individual events will be available online.
 

HOW DO I BOOK TICKETS?

Online
Tickets can be booked online through our website using credit / debit cards. 

By Telephone
Telephone bookings can be made on 01434 652477 using most major credit / debit cards. A handling charge of 50p per ticket applies to bookings made in person or over the phone.

In venue
We are asking all customers to use contactless or card payments in venue to reduce contact between customers and staff and to reduce queues. Tickets for events should be purchased in advance if at all possible.
 

WILL MY TICKET GET SENT TO ME?

To limit contact and reduce queuing at Box Office, e-tickets are emailed directly to customers after making a booking. They can either be printed at home or scanned directly from smart phones by a member of the Front of House team.
 

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

We know audiences want to book with confidence and are pleased to have introduced a no quibble returns policy for peace of mind! So that you can book in confidence and as early as possible, you can now cancel up to 24 hours before a show, for any reason, and get a refund  (less 50p booking fee, if charged, to cover costs).
 

WHAT HAPPENS IF A SHOW I’VE BOOKED TICKETS FOR IS CANCELLED OR RESCHEDULED?

If we have to cancel an event for any reason, the box office will get in touch with ticket holders with news of the rescheduled date. You’ll be given the option to move your tickets to a rescheduled date, a full refund or account credit.

Please allow three working days for us to process a refund, which will be paid back to the bank card used to order the tickets.

Please consider if you are able to swap your booking for another show, take venue credit (valid for 2 years) or make a donation to Queen’s Hall instead of a refund. This will help invest in the future of local live performances.
 

THE SHOW I HAVE TICKETS FOR HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED WILL MY CURRENT TICKETS BE VALID?

Yes, you can use your original tickets for the new date. If you would prefer new tickets we can re-issue them nearer the date of the performance.
 

I HAVE SEEN ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT THE SHOW I HAVE TICKETS FOR IS RESCHEDULED OR CANCELLED. WHY HAVEN’T I BEEN CONTACTED?

There may be a small number of ticket holders that we don’t have contact details for as they may have been bought over the counter in person. If you suspect this is the case, please email the box office. 
 

IF I BUY A GIFT VOUCHER ONLINE HOW LONG WILL IT BE VALID FOR?

Gift vouchers are available to buy online here and make an ideal gift. They expire in 24 months, this has been extended from the usual 12 months.
 

WHAT TIME DOES BOX OFFICE OPEN?

The Box Office is situated immediately in front of you as you enter the Queen's Hall from Beaumont Street. 

Box Office opening hours are: Mon - Sat: 10am – 12pm | 1 - 4pm (plus an hour before performances)
(not including Bank Holidays and Public Holidays - please check before travelling on these days).

Tickets for events outside the Queen's Hall (ie workshops, Abbey Festival events, village hall performances etc) will be available on the door of the venue from one hour before the event.
 

WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?

Parking is available on Beaumont Street and is free for 2 hours with a parking disc. There is additional parking in the Market Place. The Wentworth Car Park (beside Waitrose Supermarket) is a short walk from the Queen's Hall.. There is also a car park behind Hexham Bus Station which is only a short walk away.

 

DO I NEED ANY IDENTIFICATION / PROOF OF AGE?

Yes. Please bring a student card or proof that you receive benefits on collecting your student / benefit concessionary tickets.
 

CAN I TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS / VIDEO THE PERFORMANCE?

It is illegal to make recordings (photographs, video or sound) of any material subject to copyright. Even when people have a licence to perform work that licence does not allow for its recording. We take copyright very seriously as we aim to support artists and regard the unauthorised use of their material as an act of theft. The “intellectual property” of artists is no less valuable to them than sales stock is to a shopkeeper. In addition to protecting artists we also have a concern for the protection of vulnerable children (and adults) from unauthorised recordings which might unintentionally place their wellbeing and safety at risk.

  

WHEN IS THE LIBRARY / TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE OPEN?

Hexham Library re-opened in January 2018 after the refurbishment. There is a drop-box in the Queen's Hall entrance for library returns.

Please note, the Library & TIC are not run by Queen's Hall Arts.

 

HOW LONG IS THE SHOW?

Show times differ for each performance. If we can get a running time prior to the show then this will be available on the website or from the Box Office in the days leading up to the performance.

 

IS THERE AN INTERVAL?

Most shows run with an interval but this is not always the case. Again, please check with the Box Office or the website for the relevant show.

 

WHERE DO YOU SHOW FILMS?

Our films are screened in the theatre.
 

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS

We offer concessionary prices on selected shows for full-time students, registered unemployed, people with disabilities and people under 18.
