Comprising vocal and instrumental works by Monteverdi, Caccini, Purcell, Blow, Simpson and others, the concert will include Purcell’s magnificent and rarely heard lament upon the death of Queen Mary, ‘The Queen’s Epicedium.’
Seating for this concert will not be socially distanced. Face coverings are optional.

The Early Music in Hexham Concert Series brings musicians from around the country together to perform at Hexham Abbey, which boasts some of the best acoustics settings in the region. John Green, former Director of Music at the Abbey, curates the concerts - which showcase different performers, composers and themes within the fascinating world of early music.
