The Weekend Rover Ticket gains entry to all events across the Hexham Jazz Festival weekend

Please note seating is unreserved, mainly cafe style seating. Weekend Rover ticketholders will be given priority seating.
Hexham Jazz Festival 2022 brings together top musicians from around the country to perform in Hexham Abbey, which boasts some of the best acoustics in the region. The festival offers a full weekend of concerts with profits being donated to research at Newcastle University's "Centre of Cancer". Food and drink will be available so come and make a weekend of it, in the heart of Northumberland. Supported by Hexham Town Council.

You can expect fresh, inspired interpretations of the material as well as recreations of some of the delightful arrangements from the original recordings. A treat for connoisseurs of swinging, string jazz and lovers of all things vintage!

Paul Edis and Graeme Wilson
An unconventional setting for a jazz gig, the duo revel in the chance to play with the incredible acoustics and atmosphere, summoning up the sounds of heaven and hell in a continuous improvised set.

Described as a “velvet voiced” singer Jo is a rising star in the U.K. and Europe. She’s performed at venues across the capital, including the Royal Albert Hall, 606 Club,Pizza Express, the Hideaway and at festivals and clubs all over the UK. Headlining Scarborough Jazz Festival, Burton Agnes Jazz and Blues Festival and performing at Sage Gateshead.

Dean Stockdale - in the Great Hall.
Dean Stockdale is recognised as one of the foremost exponents of straight ahead jazz piano. Drawing on influences from the American jazz tradition, he regularly performs across the UK performing at clubs and festivals year round. He has received features on Jazz FM and Straight Ahead in conjunction with the 606 Club.

James Kitchman with Bruno Heinen
Hexham born and raised guitarist James Kitchman teams up with the acclaimed pianist Bruno Heinen in a duo that has developed its own vocabulary in jazz. Expect a careful balance of original compositions and improvisations, with plenty of musical dialogue and playful energy.

The Abbie Finn Trio
They have been described as a masterclass in straight- ahead jazz by Russell Corbett for the Northern Echo after their performance at the 2019 Durham Jazz Festival. The trio have featured on BBC. Chris Philips, Jazz FM dubbed them “Exceptional British Jazz”
Sunday 15th May through the afternoon in the bandstand or in the Great Hall (if poor weather)
Youth and Community jazz performances.

A limited pre event meal will be available each evening, those with tickets will be contacted nearer the time to make reservations.
Those with Weekend Rover tickets will be issued with a concert pass on presentation of their ticket purchase.
A bar will be available for refreshments.
