By Alan Bennett
It’s all about getting the right body!...
Flat-chested Connie seeks to achieve her dream of bust enhancement, whilst the wayward lusts and passions of the play’s over-the-top characters career around her.
A satirical and gorgeously vulgar merry-go-round, where Brighton’s plush, silk-stocking district of Hove runs headlong into the “permissive society” of the 1960s. A fast-moving pastiche of comic styles – Noel Coward painted as a cheeky seaside postcard - with a good dash of parody Mills & Boon thrown in.
Alan Bennett’s trademark ear for dialogue goes into hyperactive mode for this play – don’t expect naturalism!
This amateur production of “Habeas Corpus” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD.
Running time: Act 1 – 65mins [Interval] Act 2 – 55mins
