Mrs Hannah Glasse and guests invite you to join them for an evening of culinary and theatrical experiment.

Join us for a sneak preview of November Club’s new work-in-progress - celebrating the 18th century Hexham born author of the best-selling cookbook of all time, The Art of Cookery made Plain and Easy.

This is an imaginary time travelling gathering, bringing Glasse, Ann Cook (Glasse’s sworn enemy and rival) and Isabella Beeton together, to cook whilst they talk about their hopes and dreams from conflict to sisterhood.

Written by Fiona Ellis and presented in association with Queen's Hall Arts .

Running Time: 1 hour

Foods and Feuds: Two Cooks of Hexham has received a grant from The Leche Trust

QHA's Artistic Director, Katy Taylor 'Queen’s Hall Arts is thrilled to be working with November Club to bring this forgotten story to life.  This work in progress will use the café in the Queen’s Hall which will give the audience an unique experience as the performers move between the tables. Regional voices are important within our community and it is time we learned about this feisty Hexham writer and rethink  the history of the women of the North East.'
