Mobile Cinema

As well as showing films at the arts centre in Hexham, QHA promotes a rural film programme providing 80-90 film screenings across Tynedale each year! Films are shown at village halls, schools and film clubs - keep an eye out for a screening near you. Film clubs supported include Slaley, Wylam, Wark, Bellingham, Tarset, Allendale, Ovingham & West Woodburn.

Singing Babies at the Hearth, Horsley

Lively singing sessions especially devised for parents and their new-born babies.
Starts Monday 21 April at 9.30am & 11.00am and then again Monday 2 June.

Schools Projects


Queen’s Hall Arts also supports the following school projects.

Kathakali Residency
Between Monday 28 April and Friday 2 May, there will be dance drama workshops and performances from South India in schools around Tynedale. There will be a full Kathakali performance at the Queen’s Hall Arts Centre in October.

movingsounds
Creative artists movingsounds will be touring Tynedale schools during the summer term with their eco-show, full of clowning, music, drama, and messages of the moment!

Hexham Book Festival
As we near the Hexham Book Festival 2008, there will be an exciting programme of local events across Tynedale with guest authors. There will also be author residencies in schools, culminating in a grand writing competition. There will be Readers in Residence appointed to visit various reading groups including those at Hexham Hospital, Pebbles Café in Allendale and at the Holly Bush Inn, Greenhaugh. Supported by Northumberland National Park.

Hexham Gathering
In the run up to the Hexham Gathering 2008, there will be folk musician residencies in schools.
