 National Poetry Day Workshop: Border Song

At the Heritage Centre at Bellingham with Linda France
A writing workshop that picks up on the themes of the current collaborative exhibition between poet Linda France and artist Kim Lewis. The exhibition re-interprets the Old Testament’s Song of Songs and translates it to the North Tyne Valley: a praise song for the land, its people and the heart’s deepest longing.
No experience is necessary. Please bring lunch. Tea and coffee provided.

Write Your Life Stories

At Queen’s Hall Arts Centre, Hexham
Everyone has a story to tell; writer / tutor John Halliday will lead a session on memoir and autobiography and look at learning how to write effectively about events and experiences, as well as creating lively and interesting characters. This is an introductory workshop leading into a longer fortnightly course over the winter.
